OUR HISTORY

 

On January 9,1986, a group of Christian men and women met at the house of Minister Henry W. White at 1342 Stoneham Court in College Park, Georgia. God had anointed the plans for the founding of a Church. Minister Henry W. White, Brother Henry L. White, Brother Millard Griffen, Sister Pauline White, Sisters Mary & Timeka Griffen, and Sister Natalie White were the present at the first meeting. Minister Henry Willis White was appointed Pastor. The vote was unanimous to name the church Christian Missionary Baptist Church.
Since inception in 1986, Christian Missionary has witness the death of many faithful members and great leaders. They have left behind a legacy of faith and determination that continues to thrive. At the same time, our history has allowed us witness the birth and growth of a new generation of believers who have excelled to become young doctors, teachers, preachers and professionals in the community yet remained committed to God and CMBC Church family. As of today, over 600 members have professed salvation here at Christian Missionary Baptist Church.
The total number of Ministers who were licensed, ordained, or joined fellowship here at Christian Missionary are 34 and 26 Deacons have also served at Christian Missionary Baptist Church.
Our Church history is warm, rich and full. We are truly blessed to be in this place. The upcoming years will continue to bring about changes. Christian Missionary Baptist Church will continue to grow and serve this community. We will the journey of faith.
